Mary Patricia (Turner) Anderson, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2021 at Menno Haven Health Care Center, where she had been a resident since 2016.
Born July 30, 1925, in Kirkwood, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Besse (Knight) Turner and sister to Betty (Turner) Winter. On June 22, 1946, she married her beloved "Bunny," Edwin Baker Anderson Jr., and together they celebrated almost 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2003.
Upon moving from St. Louis, MO to Hastings-on-Hudson, NY in 1937, she attended Bethany Chapel in Yonkers, NY until her retirement to Greenwood Hills Bible Conference grounds, where she attended the Gospel Chapel there and continued to serve as organist.
Her boundless energy and creative gifts of entertaining and hospitality were abilities she used well and often. she relished a good surprise and her eye for beautiful and eclectic things made every event - from hosting missionaries on furlough, to planning the annual Ladies' Retreat weekend at Greenwood Hills, and creating the "Chatterbox" and "Treasure and Trivia" ministries to support Greenwood Hills Bible boys and girls camps - a unique and memorable experience for others. She loved the Southern Gospel group, The Booth Brothers.
She loved to travel the world and share new experiences and adventures with her family and friends. We celebrate even now, knowing her best adventure of all has begun.
She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Cheryl Anderson, of Fayetteville PA and Brian and Paula Anderson, of Riverside, PA four grandchildren Erin (Anderson) Williams, Nathan Anderson, Collin Anderson, and Kenton Anderson, six great grandchildren, and her loving niece, Sherri Chapeau of St. Louis, Missouri.
Services will be at the discretion of the family, with a private burial at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville, PA.
Gifts of remembrance may be sent to Greenwood Hills Assembly, 89 Pine way, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
