Mary Rosenberry Obituary

Mary Grace (Mollie) (Oliver) Rosenberry, age 96, passed away on October 9, 2017, at San Antonio, TX. Born October 22, 1920, to Millard W. and Ella R. (Claudy) Oliver, Mary Grace was a life-long resident of Chambersburg. She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1939. After graduation she was employed by Sears Roebuck in the order room and at T. B. Wood’s Sons Company. It was at Wood’s where she met her life-mate, Walter Rosenberry, and they were married March 3, 1946, and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. After Walter passed away in 2013, she moved to Texas to be closer to her son, grandson, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Millard, Jr., John, Walter, Richard, and her sister Saundra. Mary Grace was a devoted wife, mother, and sister who enjoyed knitting and crocheting until arthritis impeded the use of her fingers. While she was still in high school, her mother passed away, and Mary Grace became mother to her younger siblings. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years at several churches. In addition, she was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church and a Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary life member. For a number of years she served as a volunteer at Chambersburg Hospital and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. Mary Grace is survived by her son, Dennis and wife Denise Rosenberry of San Antonio, TX, her grandson, Scott (Jenn) and great grandchildren, Jackson and Rachel of Houston, TX, as well as her sister Nancy Oliver and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 with the Rev. Marc Stephenson officiating.
