Maxine C. Phillips, 70, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away April 29, 2022 at home. She was born on June 6, 1951 in Breezewood, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Catherine (Garland) Bussard. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and devoted her life to family, relatives, friends, and church. She fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a nurse while raising her children and caring for all of the people around her. She loved all of God's creations especially birds and flowers.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 49 and a half years, Ward Phillips, III., and her children Lorie (wife of Samuel) Klipp, Wendy (wife of Randy) Bricker, and Ward (husband of Michelle) Phillips, IV. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amber, Dalton, Logan, Brady and Emily, a great-grandchild, Lawson, and her siblings Percy Bussard and Elsie Carbaugh. In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by a grandson Dakota, and her siblings Vera Helman, Earl Bussard, and Mary Jane Dicken.
A graveside service for Maxine will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, 12:00 PM at Union Memorial Cemetery, Breezewood, with Pastor Joe Pickens officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
