Melvin Sherwood, 65, of Ft. Loudon, Pennsylvania passed away April 16, 2020 at home with his family by his side. He was born on March 22, 1955 in Washington, DC to Melvin and Catherine (Droppleman) Sherwood.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for PennDOT. He was a volunteer firefighter most of his life, serving in Mercersburg and St. Thomas Fire Companies. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ginger (Rosenberry) Sherwood and their two children: Stephanie Hassinger of Manassas, VA and Michael (husband of Jeaninne) Sherwood of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by a sister, Debra Sword of Mt. Airy, MD, sister Peggy Sword of Thurmont, MD, and Robin Stahl of Cove Gap. PA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Edward Sherwood.
