Miriam Esther (Gephart) Higgins

Miriam Esther Higgins, 95, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away March 6, 2021 at home.  She was born on March 27, 1925  in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania  to Charles  and Edna  (Coleman) Gephart.  She attended Thompson Business School in Harrisburg after high school.  She then began working at Letterkenny Army Depot where she worked as a secretary for over thirty years.  She enjoyed doing crafts and painting.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling.  
     She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert L. Higgins and her daughter, Angela Shoop Moore of Newville, PA  and a stepson, Gregory K. Higgins of Newville, PA.  She has five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, Donna Rebuck of Shippensburg.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Shoop, her second husband, Frank Cressler Jr. , a sister, Verneda Kruger and a brother, Ralph Gephart.
     Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg with Rev. John Kratz officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.kelsocorneliusfh.com
