Norma L. Newman, 96, of Chambersburg, passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1929, in Three Springs, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Charles Roy and Lillian (Park) Baker. Norma was a member of Chambersburg Bible Church. She graduated from Saltillo PA High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. Prior to marriage, Norma worked at her grandfather's Clay Park’s general store in Three Springs, PA. She enjoyed singing, reading, word puzzles, reading her bible and sharing her faith in God to everyone. She was devoted to taking care of her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children: Lanny N. Newman and his wife, Sonja, of Fayetteville; Brian W. Newman and his wife, Helen, of Chambersburg; and Elizabeth A. Shew and her husband, Alan, of Chambersburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace R. Newman, and her siblings, Irene B. Miller and Edwin Baker.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Pastor Nelson Newman officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
