Paul F. Alleman, 92, Chambersburg, PA went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Brookview Health Care Center. He was born on November 26, 1932 in Quincy, PA to Norman and Eva (Spangler) Alleman.
Paul was a member of the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church. In his early years he was a farmer. He was then employed at Ryder’s Supply Co., Graybill’s Electrical and Lighting, and eventually retired from Nibble with Gibble’s Potato Chips. He and Mary loved to travel, visiting forty-eight states as well as other destinations. They also spent many weekends camping, quite often at The Christian Retreat Center, as well as Twin Bridges Campground, where he greatly enjoyed attending the Antique Engine and Tractor Show, never missing an opportunity to drive his tractors in the parade. Paul had a passion for collecting toy trucks and tractors, especially John Deere. He always had a joke ready to tell and entertained us with his humor even in his final days.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary E. (Wengert) Alleman. They were married on 3/21/1953 and were anticipating their 72nd wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his daughter, Sharon (wife of Chris) Rickabaugh; three grandchildren, Janelle Valois (husband Donald), Jennifer Grove, and Jeffrey Rickabaugh (wife Karen); and 13 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Benjamin, Megan, Bethany, Abigail, Silas, Joshua, Emma, Caleb, Rebekah, Abigail, Lillian, and Boon; two brothers, Glenn Alleman and Nelson Alleman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Erma Gettle, Betty Yeager, Helen Alleman, Mary Lesher, and Anna Rife.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at The Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 7041 Cumberland Hwy, Chambersburg, with Pastor John Melhorn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Air Hill Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paul’s name may be made to The Christian Retreat Center, 369 CRC Dr, East Waterford, PA 17021.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff members at Village Square and Brookview Health Care Center for the care and kindness they have provided over the past three years.
