Paul R. Ciprich Obituary

Paul R. Ciprich, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on January 15, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1938, in Hudson, Pennsylvania, to the late Paul and Anna (Puk) Ciprich.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a distinguished career with the Pennsylvania State Police, retiring as a Corporal in 1990. He enjoyed watching classic westerns, traveling, and scuba diving. A devoted sports fan, Paul especially loved football—cheering for the Detroit Lions—and baseball, as a longtime New York Yankees supporter.

Paul is survived by his three daughters: Paula Ciprich and her companion, Ed Becher; Gail Weaver and her husband, Bill; and Karen Purnell and her husband, Greg. He was a beloved grandfather to Cheyenne Schooley, Jordan Schooley, Molly Farner, Zoe Weaver, Katie Talley, Garret Purnell, Grace Maria Purnell, and Bradley Coffey, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine Timek, and his nephew, Michael Timek.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Shanholtz.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
