Randall W. Appleby, Sr. Obituary

Randall W. Appleby, Sr., 79, of Fort Loudon, finished life’s race January 15, 2025 at home. He was born September 16, 1945, in Neelyton, PA, to John and Delma (Rhine) Appleby.

Randy loved his Lord,  Jesus Christ, his wife Janet, his children, and all of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed all things family-oriented and cherished simple things. A “jack of all trades”, there was little he wouldn’t attempt to accomplish. With the ability to make much out of nothing, along with his wife, they began an amazing legacy through their three children.He was a member of the West Side Brethren In Christ Church pastored by his best friend Pastor David Kent (Doc). Apart from his family, one of his greatest joys was spending time butchering or just being on the farm with Doc.

Randy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet (Rouzer) Appleby, 3 children, Kimberly Hoffman (husband Kevin), Randall Jr (wife Jennifer), and Dale (wife Christina); 17 grandchildren; Cortnee Mangum (husband Ethan), Mitchell Hoffman, Jordan Stinger (wife Samantha), Tawnee Poper (husband Jared), Darian Hufcut (husband Brandon), Erin Hoffman (partner Hunter Murray), Tayla Young ( husband Alex ), Brady Appleby,Takota Appleby ( partner Kylie Vest), Ethan Appleby, Denver Appleby, Tarin Appleby (partner Deagan McNew), Taden Appleby, Tavin Appleby, Taight Appleby, Tazdin Appleby, Tarriq Appleby, 13  great-grandchildren;  siblings; Harold and Judy Appleby, Twila Lee, Ernie and Flora Appleby, Charlene Waters, Dorene and Harold Pine, Judy and Barry Piper, Christopher and Sally Appleby. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at West Side Brethren in Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way W, Chambersburg, with Pastor W. David Kent officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, January 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, as well as for one hour prior to the funeral service, both at the church. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Randy’s name may be made to West Side Brethren In Christ Church Youth Group.
