Randy L. Heckman, 69, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg, following a long battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Chambersburg, PA, by his mother, the late Ruby (Heckman) Sherman and stepfather, the late Don Sherman, as well as sisters Lori Ann (Sherman) Schaffer and Vickie Lynn (Sherman) Cramer.
Randy is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Donna Jane (Barnett) Heckman, daughter Stephanie Ann Heckman, two grandsons, Jared Michael Nathaniel Myers of Evington, VA, and Meric Alan Griffith Heckman LCpl in USMC stationed in Hawaii, son James Michael Heckman and three granddaughters. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and brothers of arms.
A celebration of life service will be held at Greencastle American Legion on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 5 PM until 7 PM for friends and family. If you plan to attend, please contact Stephanie so that there is a proper count.
A service with full military honors will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM for anyone to attend.
Randy was passionate about helping veterans and supported many causes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Randy’s name may be made to support veteran causes.
