Ray Allen Bingaman, 69, of Greencastle, passed away December 16, 2024 in his home. He was born October 16, 1955, in Waynesboro, PA to Donald E. and Marlene R. (Kline) Bingaman.
Ray attended James Buchanan High School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He was active military from 11/20/1973 until 12/15/1976. Ray was part of the 82nd Engineer Battalion stationed in Bamberg, Germany. Ray was very proud of his military service. He was last employed as a correctional officer at Maryland Correctional Training Center. Ray was a lifetime member of the National Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and working on his automobiles. He loved his family dearly.
Ray is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherry, two daughters; Sandra Naugle and Rae Ann (spouse of Justin) Yates, four grandchildren; Jaden High, Rylan High, Emily Yates and Grayson Yates, brothers; Donald Bingaman Jr, Leon Bingaman Sr, and sister Linda DeShong, mother-in-law Janet Willmert, brother-in-law Timothy Willmert, sisters-in-law Michelle (wife of Brian) Helfrick, and Jodi Willmert, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donald in April of 2020, mother Marlene in February of 2023, father-in-law Gordon Willmert in April of 2020, brother-in-law Gene Heinbaugh Jr in October of 2022, and best friend of 41 years James Baumgarten, Sr of Stockton, MD in December of 2023.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
