Reed de Salis

September 8, 1958 ~ April 27, 2022 (age 63)

Obituary

Reed Ethan de Salis, of Fayetteville, PA, was called home to his heavenly Father, loving Lord and Savior, on April 27, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Reed was born September 8, 1958, in Syracuse, New York, to Madeline C. (Sell) de Salis and the late John R. de Salis. He was a 1976 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He was employed as a logistician at the Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg for 39 years, retiring in 2016.
Reed married the love of his life, Katrena, in April of 2015 at the Grand Canyon. He took pride in the upkeep of their home and vigorously completed a variety of home improvement projects.
Reed was an avid fan of the LA/St. Louis Rams from his youth. He always enjoyed sports, camping, traveling, and other outside activities. Most important to him was spending time with family and friends, supporting their needs, celebrating milestones and holidays, and playing/winning at pinochle. Reed will be remembered for his honesty, bravery, generosity, loyalty, and fun-loving spirit.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his mother and four siblings, all of Chambersburg: Cathy M. McAfee (Jerry), Michelle M. Nicholas (Dave), Joan M. Carson (Rick), and John P. de Salis (Dawn). Also surviving are two stepsons: Nick R. Fisher (Shannon) and Erik J. Fisher (Andrea); four step-grandchildren: Lane, Claire, Laikyn and Grayson, all of Stephens City, VA; and an “adopted” daughter: Analeigh Englehart, of Suffolk, VA. Reed is also survived by seven nephews, two nieces, five grandnephews, and five grandnieces. He will be sadly missed by his loyal pet papipoo, Cara Mia.
A funeral service for Reed will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg with Pastor Steven Livermore officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and for one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
