Richard Carbaugh Obituary

Richard E. Carbaugh, 81, of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania passed away June 15, 2022 at home with family by his side. He was born on April 26, 1941 in McConnellsburg, to Kenneth and Helen (Sowers) Carbaugh. He drove concrete truck for Valley Transit for 42 years. He loved hunting, gardening, NASCAR, working for his son at RC Electric, and farming for his son and Ronnie Hartman. He was a life member of Chambersburg Club, Marine Corps, and Fort Loudon American Legion. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Leininger Carbaugh and their two children Barbara A. Reed of Waynesboro and Richard Kevin (husband of Tammy) Carbaugh of Chambersburg. He has five grandchildren: Matthew Reed, Maggie Kupniewski, Katie Carbaugh, Kevin Carbaugh and Emily Reed. He also has three great-grandchildren: Maddox Reed, Paxton Reed and Naomi Kupniewski. He is also survived by three siblings: Harvey (husband of Cyndi) Carbaugh, Deborah Yeager, and Theresa (wife of Michael) Shuler. Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert Carbaugh, and three sisters; Martha Dennik- Snively, Betty L. Carlin, and Jean E. Brookens. He was also preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Cindy Reed. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 20th at 11:00AM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg with Rev. Adam Leeper officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 8:00PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
