Robert W. Holmes, 89, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania and formerly of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away January 23, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on November 8, 1931 in Washington, DC to Clay and Dorothy (Gooch) Holmes. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1996. He loved traveling in the United States and camping. He was a very loving family man and he had a genuine love for the Lord, his Savior.
He is survived by his two sons: Robert D. (husband of Amy) Holmes of Fayetteville and James N. (husband of Patricia) Holmes of York. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William Holmes, a brother, Clay C. Holmes Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Carter.
Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania has been entrusted with conducting the services. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday Jan. 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home. The family will Receive Friends, just prior, from 1 - 2 PM.
