Ronald F. Cordell, Sr. Obituary

Ronald F. Cordell, Sr., 79, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away March 5, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 25, 1944, in Pond Bank, Pennsylvania, to Robert L.  and Lillian S. (Bumbaugh) Cordell.

Ronald was a truck driver for most of his life, working for Carolina Freight in Carlisle and ABF in Carlisle and Baltimore. He preached over the CB radio and his handle was Born Again. He drove bus for Meyers Bus Lines for the Montessori Academy of Chambersburg. 

He was most passionate about his faith in God. He loved golfing, riding his motorcycle, playing corn hole and anything that was F.R. double E. He had a prison ministry and served the Franklin County, Adams County and Baltimore City jails. With his trusty motorcycle he trekked many miles to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. He started the Discipleship Evangelism Bible Correspondence Courses with inmates and returning citizens. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Ronald is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene K. Cordell, children Karrina (wife of Darryle) Lawson, Terresa McCabe, Misty (companion of David Simpson) Pensinger and Angelique Burkhard, grandchildren: Nicole Evans, Andrew Pensinger, Kristina Eckert, Angela Stoner, Cody Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Derek Burkhard, Blake Cordell, Kevin Graham, Jamie Scott and Amanda Scott, and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Charlotte Cook, as well as close friends of the family, Raymond Hardsock, Christopher Rau, and Randy, April and Corbin Fickes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Annette Fay Cordell Snively, son Ronald E. Cordell, Jr., and siblings: Dort Olson, Patsy High, Sandra Lee Cordell, Johnny Alberts, Gary Lee Cordell and Robert N. Cordell and mother-in-law Helen R. Yoder.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
