Ronald Gene Mowen, Sr. Obituary

Ronald Gene Mowen Sr., 90, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania passed away October 13, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1934, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to John and Treva (Mowen) Poe. Ronnie was a truck driver for more than 50 years. He was a member of the former Coldspring Church in Fayetteville. He loved spending time with his family. 

 

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Pearl J. (Beck) Mowen, son Danny (husband of Kathy) Mowen, grandchildren Krista Coldsmith, Matthew Coldsmith, Rachel (wife of Clinton) Goshorn, Anthony (husband of Jennifer) Rotz, and Kelli (wife of Kenneth) Kutcherman James Mowen, Travis (husband of Rayna)  Mowen and Shaina (fiance Justice Fitzgerald) Mowen,. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Rhiannon Coldsmith, Noah Coldsmith, Ayla Coldsmith, Ella Coldsmith, and Michael Mowen, sisters Shirley Whitfield and Kimberly (wife of Randall) Rodgers, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by three children Ronald Mowen Jr., Donna Coldsmith and Susan Rotz, as well as three brothers, Robert Poe, Richard Poe and Lanny Poe. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Rev. Dennis Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
