Shirley Arlene Newlin, 80, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 7, 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on February 13, 1943, in Willow Hill, Pennsylvania to Albert and Viola Neil.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Henry Newlin Jr., her daughters, Tina (wife of Kevin) Decker and Roxanna (wife of Mark) Seilhamer, one grandson, Shane (husband of Jillian) Boggs and one great-granddaughter, Makenzie. She is also survived by her siblings, Marlin "Butch" Neil, Phyllis Eckenrode, Wilma Umbrell, Gerald "Mark" Neil, Gregory Neil, Angela Briggs, Jeffrey Neil and Christina Ives, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Carbaugh who passed away June 3, 1993, two sisters and one brother.
Per Shirley's request, there will be no public services. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Shirley's name may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. W., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education, 3076 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg has been entrusted with her care.
