Stella Mary (Smith) Formanek

Stella Mary Formanek, 90, of Waynesboro, and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away July 1, 2020 at home with family by her side. She was born on June 3, 1930 in Gibbstown, New Jersey to Bert and Helen (Bean) Smith. She had retired from the Scotland School, where she had been a housemother. She loved folk art painting. She is survived by her Mary Waters of Chester, PA and Jamie Kiser of Waynesboro. She has eleven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Waters, her second husband, Thomas Formanek, and a granddaughter, Michelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass in the church. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery.
