Wanda Helman Mowen, 74, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away June 28, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on January 29, 1947 in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania to Carl and Dorothy (Black) Helman. She retired from Corning Glass Works in Greencastle, where she worked in the shipping department. She was currently residing in Providence Place, Chambersburg. She enjoyed the beach, riding motorcylces, cooking, baking, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her two daughters: Tammy (wife of Timothy) Ranck of Chambersburg and Trudy (wife of Gregory) Shives of Greencastle. She has three step-children: Dirk Mowen of Greencastle, Dori Brown of Mercersburg, and Dee Sanders of Mercersburg. Wanda is survived by her ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Connie Baranoski, and three brothers; Carl Helman, Wayne Helman and Denny Helman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Roger Mowen in 2018.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday July 6, at 11:00 AM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be sent to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
