Wayne (Rosey) Cleveland Rosenberry 88, born August 7, 1936 of St. Thomas, passed peacefully with his family by his side in the early morning of Tuesday, September 10, 2024

He was born in Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania to Richard (Max) and Margaret Fisher Rosenberry.  A 1957 Graduate of James Buchanan High School. Grandparents Grover Cleveland and Jesse (Hopple) Rosenberry and George and Anna Fisher

Wayne is survived by his second wife Sharon (Karen) Rosenberry of 47 years.  Daughter Amanda Rosenberry Nicholas Strine and ex son – in law Jason Younker.  One grandson Trenten Jaylynn Younker and granddaughter Addison (Addy) Renee Rosenberry. Wayne Is also survived by his first wife Genevieve Rosenberry, Daughter Betsy Bain and grandson Jeremy Hornbaker (Melissa), granddaughter Terra Heaton and Amber Bain and great grandchildren.

As a youngster Wayne’s first job was a fruit picker in a local orchard.  His first major job was a young person at the Williamson Stone Quarry where his boss was his dad Max. Another young man started around the same time , Jack Mummert and they became best friends. He hauled black top for Tom Wells.  He was employed by E.D. Plummer for his dump truck.  His main self-employed job was as a mechanic at Fort Loudon and at home, and a small salvage yard that grew into a very large salvage yard. “No Karen it’s not a junk yard.” He also plowed snow for post offices in St. Thomas and Fort Loudon and neighbors in need.

As a family we enjoyed local car show with Rosie’s 64 Chevy Impala and a family owned 31 dodge, which was bought new by his great aunt and pap. He had a friends and family pig roast for 12 years with entertainment from gospel country bands, John Hendershot and Paul Funk, and bluegrass band with Brian Brewer. Wayne enjoyed his old country music, Hank Williams Sr and Kitty Wells. Wayne enjoyed sitting in Pavilion with family and friends shooting the bull and chewing his ever-favorite Taylor Pride Tabacco.

He is survived by many friends; the Snyder Brothers, salvage yard buddy Dave Miner, his mechanic Danny Timmons, old car enthusiast Tom Gallagher, and many neighbor friends, the Faiths and the Hartmans, childhood friends, Don Pennsinger, close cousins Don Fisher, Danny Rosenberry, Bud March and close family friend Nevin Stevens. He was preceded in death by close friends Jack (Alvin) Mummert and Jim Helman and his uncle Pete.

Graveside services will be held 12:30 pm on Monday at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania.

Memorial donations can be made to a local animal shelter or to the American Heart Association.

Although we no longer have you here with us, all your jokes and stories and words of wisdom will always be with us forever until we meet you again.

We would like to thank my dearest friend of almost 50 years, Kathy Shindle. She has taken care of me and Wayne throughout the last 4 weeks. Together Kathy and Randy provided meals, support and anything else we have needed. Ruby and Jake Shindle, Randy’s parent who were neighbors to Wayne and Jenny since the start of their life together in 1957 resulted in Randy and Wayne being best friends since birth.  Melissa, our granddaughter-in-law who came into our life in 2016 when she and Jeremy started dating have been through every medical up and down with us. Leon and Donna Witter have been in our lives since their boys and our children did the Rosen-Sny Pig Roasts together (1998-2010) with the Snyder’s (Bryan, Ronald and Donald) and Chet and Kathy Hartman. I would also like to thank our dearest friends Doug and Paula Stotelmeyer, Linda Stine (Chuck), Stacy and Ronald Snyder, Donald and Jenny and their children, as well as my sister Rhonda (Dwayne) Oberholzer and Jenny and their daughter Betsy.

Everyone in our SMALL and wonderful blessed community – we thank you all. God Bless.
