William Charles Ditch, 69, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away August 10, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1952 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Dorean (Cole) Ditch. He had retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after 30+ years, where he had been a mechanic and supervisor. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed hunting and working on cars. He had been a member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club. He was known to his friends as "Wild Bill". He always had a smile on his face, no matter what the circumstances.
He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Darlene Kay Coldsmith and their two daughters; Tammy Sue (wife of Douglas) Gardner of Fayetteville and Billie Jo (wife of Brandon) Seibert of Ft. Loudon, Pa. He is survived by three grandchildren: Brittany Gardner, Jordan Mose, and Bryston Mose. He is survived by two sisters; Crystal Smith of Waynesboro, Josephine Mentzer of Waynesboro and two brothers; Harold Ditch of Waynesboro and Joe Ditch of S. Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Welsh.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday Aug. 16, 2021 at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg at 11:00AM with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
