Norman R. Rhodes, age 64, of Chambersburg, passed away December 8, 2015. He was born August 10, 1951 in McConnellsburg, PA to Robert and Margaret (Gordon) Rhodes. He was married to Tawny Gelsinger Rhodes on Oct. 10, 1970. Norman was a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and was a recruiter for the marines during his service. He was an operations manager for New England Motor Freight. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing in North Carolina, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Tawny Marie Gelsinger Rhodes of Chambersburg and his two children: Christopher (husband of Angie) Norman Rhodes Sr. of Chambersburg and Christina Marie (fiancé Brad Hippensteel) Rhodes of Orrstown. He has five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 till 9:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to Marine Corps Toys for Tots, 2625 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.

Tawny and Rhodes family, your family is in our prayers. Norm was a very special person that I had the pleasure of working with for several years at NEMF. He always brought a smile to our faces during our day. He is greatly missed and eill forever be in our heart. May God's comfort bring you peace during this time of loss. Prayer for you. Love.
